Long-time New Mexico singer-songwriter, producer and Albuquerque native, Ron Crowder is releasing a new album titled Moving at the Speed of Life. Written, performed, produced and recorded at Crowder’s own InCrowd Studio in Albuquerque, the album is crowded with amazing talent including Greg Bisonette (David Lee Roth, Ringo Starr), Kebbi Williams (Tedeschi Trucks Band), Chris Ishee (Maynard Ferguson, Engelbert Humperdink) and Daniel Ward (Ottmar Leibert.)

Other New Mexico journeymen include saxophonist Alex Murzyn, pianist Robert Muller and bassist Artha Meadors. Crowder handles the bulk of the instruments including guitar, drums and vocals.
Crowder cut his teeth right out of high school providing backup vocals for a number of local studios and then hung around for the next twenty years learning the recording arts, all the while composing music. “This is not something that we choose to do,” Crowder says about a music, “it’s something we have to do.”
Along the way, he toured throughout the US with acts as diverse as Three Dog Night, The Persuasions, The Zombies, The Main Squeeze and 3-time Grammy winner, Fantastic Negrito. Crowder is the owner of InCrowd Productions in Albuquerque, winning numerous awards as a songwriter, producer, recording engineer and composer, including Tellys, Silver Microphones, Addys, American Marketing Association, and is a perennial winner at the New Mexico Music Awards, recently winning Song of the Year, Producer of the Year and Best Recording Engineer.
The songs on the album span multiple genres, including Pop, Rock, Funk and Soul. The opener is the bright pop tune “A Little Love,” a recent finalist in the New Mexico Music Awards. The album wraps with the lively “Young Again,” a 50’s-ish tune you’d have heard at a high school gym dance. In between are a mix of light blues, (Take You Away), R&B (Gotta Find Away, Streets are Burning), Adult Pop (This is the Moment, Speed of Life, Everyday Eyes) and Indie Rock (Monkey Down, Off My Mind). The music touches on everything from theoretical physics, the pursuit of dreams, racial injustice, the power of love and a look backward at life.
Some songs were released as singles and have already racked up an impressive array of accolades, including Best Pop Song, Best R&B Song, Best Adult Contemporary Song and Best Recording Engineer at the New Mexico Music Awards.
Crowder will celebrate the release of this album in a concert on Friday, August 28th at Fusion, 708 First Street in downtown Albuquerque. He’ll be performing with his 7-piece band, featuring some of New Mexico’s finest musicians, including Dimi Disanti/guitar, Alex Murzyn/sax, Chris Ishee/piano and keys, John Bartlit/drums, Colin Deuble/bass, and Teri Lynn Browning/background vocals.
