The 37th Annual New Mexico Music Awards were held on Sunday, May 19th at Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque. The sell out crowd enjoyed performances from songwriter Jaime Michaels, blues artist Levi Platero, the duo of Terry Diers and Kevin Zeornig, hard rock band Duke City Riot, country and Spanish artist Daniel Solis and Entourage Jazz.

The Eric Larson Lifetime Achievement Award was also presented to studio musician and sideman, keyboardist and arranger Robert Muller. Mr. Muller has performed with many top flight artists including Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Greg Phillangaines and is currently on tour with Delbert Anderson.

Best of the Year album honors went to C Daniel Boling and Tom Paxton for their album Old Friends recorded at the Kitchen Sink Studios in Santa Fe. Ron Crowder, John David Peters and Steve Nery walked away with the coveted Norman Petty Producer’s Award for Peters’ album In the Living.

There was a surge in winning studios from southern New Mexico including Brainville Studio in Sunland Park, Taproot Recording in Truth or Consequences, Nasty Cactus and Ivory Wing studios in Las Cruces and D’sol Productions in Belen.
