Doug & Donna Geist-Santa Fe Center Studios
Donna Geist (left) with Lynn Marie Rusaw
From their perfectly designed and thought fully run studio in southeast Albuquerque, Doug and Donna Geist for nearly 25 years have produced some of the most incredible music created in New Mexico. In 2006, Doug Geist received a Grammy Award as part of the production team for Black Eagle Singers-Voice of the Drum album, produced by Tom Bee. This was the first ever Grammy Award presented for Native American music.
Throughout their tenure in New Mexico, Doug and Donna have strived to bring quality to the music produced in their studio, whether recording or mixing music for Maraih Carey, Snoop Dogg or up and coming New Mexico artists. Santa Fe Center studios has also been contracted for ADR post production for films like The Revenant or television programming including In Plain Sight, Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.
Doug and Donna also educate University of New Mexico students entering the field of audio recording and have also hosted educational workshops for musicians and songwriters.
The Eric Larson Endowment at UNM provides unrestricted funds for juniors or seniors who have chosen music or the recording arts as their major and have maintained a 3.0 GPA.
